Yes, this 1986 Porsche 930/911 Turbo is a real, original, one owner since new vehicle. Not only is this a documented 21 year single owner, it has every service record and piece of documentation you could ever hope for, back to before the car was even produced! From the special order process in 1985, to the $4500 complete engine teardown it received just 6,000 miles ago at the Porsche delaer who sold the car new. This car was originally owned by an airline pilot and former owner of a local chain of home and auto audio/video stores. He specially ordered the car in 1985 from the local Porsche dealer to his exact specifications. Business was good at the Sight in Sound stores that he owned and he spared no expense, optioning the car with all the goodies including: Grand Prix White exterior, Full special Can Can red leather interior (with the door handles and storage lids specifically ordered in contrasting black), Limited Slip Differential (very rare and desirable option), dual heated seats, and factory matching Grand Prix White wheels. What he ended up with was one of the most beautiful Porsches I have ever seen. This is truly the most stunning color combination Porsche offered on the 930. He then installed all the finest sound systems, telephones, and even a tire pressure monitoring system from his stores. With the exception of the radio, speakers, updated european headlights, and a couple minor adds, this car remains 100% stock as it was new. The exhaust, wheels, seats, everything is still as new and unmolested. Even the leather seats are untouched and never dyed. Only the driver's seat shows a little bit of wear with some ceavy creases holding in the dark dirt. We will be happy to have the front seats freshened up to look like new again but wanted to showcase them in their unaltered condition, a remarkable condition given the age and mileage of the car. This has been a garage kept car it's entire life, and no expense has ever been spared when it came to the service and maintenance of the car. We have documentation two inches thick, almost all done at the selling dealer Beechmont Motors (originally named Tom Moser Porsche). We also have the original order sheet with the desired options circled, correspondance between the dealer and Porsche North America, the original bill of sale and odometer statement, and the original window sticker. The condition of this car is truly amazing, especially given how original it is. The interior, short of the wear on the driver's seat (that we will take care of), is excellent, even the leather dash isn't shrunk or torn. The carpets are nice, the headliner in place, and the rear seats look to have never been used. Other than the slightest expected wear, the interio is like new! The paint and body on this car look to be mostly original, with absolutely NO accidents ever. The paint is free of any major scratches and even the hood has very few stone chips. The rubber seals are all in good shape, bumpers are nice, and the fender flares aren't scraped or dinged. I don;t even see any door dings! The only major wear is in the expected ares like the stone guards on the quarter panels (they can be replaced easily, just remove and apply new ones) and rockers. All rubber seals, rear spoiler, bumpers, lights, wheels, etc. are all in very good condition. The car runs and drives great. It shifts smoothly with no synchro problems, runs strong with plenty of turbo boost, and stops on a dime straight as an arrow, truly the product of regular maintenance. The motor has just been completely redone for $4,300 at the Porsche dealer where it was sold new at 110,000 miles. The only item to note otherwise are the guages that have had two done with white faces (the other faces are in the box un-installed), and there is a computer chip with the records. I believe this is the original chip and the chip in the car is an upgraded one. Unfortunately, there is a sad ending to this story, as the owner of this car, his beloved Porsche Turbo with which he would never part, passed away recently. This is the only reason that this vehicle came for sale as his wife had no interest in driving it and therefore sold it. Some day, with this level of originality and documentation, this might be one of those car that you see at a Barrett-Jackson auction, setting a new record sale price, but until then, you may just want to enjoy a piece of Porsche history, the most recognizable and collectible Porsche in recent history, and one of the finest examples with the most stories to tell of any for sale in the world. |
